Under Secretary for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights Sarah Sewall To Travel to Belgium and the United Kingdom
Office of the Spokesperson – Washington, DC – January 20, 2015- Under Secretary of State for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights Sarah Sewall will travel to Belgium and the United Kingdom from January 19-21, 2015.
While in Belgium, Under Secretary Sewall will meet with European Union counterparts to discuss efforts to prevent violent extremism and combat corruption, as well as Tibetan issues. She will also deliver remarks, “Partners in Prevention: Addressing Threats to Civilian Security,” in an event co-hosted by the European Policy Centre and the U.S. Mission to the EU.
While in the United Kingdom, Under Secretary Sewall will participate in a series of bilateral meetings on preventing violent extremism and mass atrocities, as well as Tibetan issues.
